Autism is a lifelong neurological difference that affects how a person communicates, learns, and experiences the world. The autism spectrum is very broad, which means it can look quite different from one individual to the next—some may need significant daily support while others live independently, pursue careers, and build families of their own. What remains consistent is that each individual has their own mix of strengths and challenges. Society is only beginning to discover what’s possible for people with autism, as their unique perspectives—marked by focus, creativity, honesty, and persistence—enrich not only their own lives but also the communities around them.
